L-21 Advances in biological sample preparation
Life Sciences
The symposium will cover all aspects of sample preparation for electron microscopy in life sciences. A preference will be given to progressive methods that aim to preserve spatial characteristics, ultrastructural details and molecular properties close to native samples, and which allow one for subsequent detection of individual biomolecules of interest in situ. Especially encouraged are contributions describing new methods or technologies leading to high-resolution identification of molecular compositions and/or molecular targets in biological samples. at all steps of sample preparation starting from fixation of the sample and finishing with the evaluation of the target spatial properties. We expect that the symposium will deal especially with sample preparation for TEM, SEM and related techniques, but contributions describing progress in sample preparation for other microscopies are equally welcome.
